About Us

Troop 23 is a member of the Heritage District of the Greater Hudson Valley Council and is located at West Point, NY. The Troop serves the West Point, Highland Falls, and other nearby communities. Our active membership has historically been around 50 Scouts and several adult participants. The Troop holds weekly meetings (Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 P.M.) at the BBC/West Point Community Center (126 Washington Road). The first Wednesday of each month is the Patrol Leader Conference (PLC), where the boy leaders plan the coming activities. All scouts not in a leadership position attend the patrol meetings directly following the PLC. The Troop tries to hold at least one Troop-level event every month. Most of these events are campouts, but we also host ski trips, hikes, and other events. Major Troop events include annual summer camp, regular High Adventure opportunities, and the annual West Point Camporee. We are closely integrated with the West Point and Highland Falls communities and provide service in the form of food drives, cemetery clean-up and flag planting, Appalachian Trail cleanup, and numerous annual Eagle Scout projects.
